NYC Cabbie in Brussels?
What a cab ride...but first things first. The flight from LAX to London on the new Boeing 777-300 was fantastic. Best Business Class seats ever with seats that lay flat, personal entertainment large screen monitor's and great food. Karen watched 3 full lenght movies on our 10-hr flight to London and Bill watched 2 1/2 - he dosed off and did not finish the 3rd.
While Bill slept, Karen checked out the buffet set up for in between meals. It was well stocked with lots of good stuff. Couple hours before landing, breakfast was served. Arrived London airport on time, fast tracked thru customs then made the trek to our next gate. After taking off, lunch was served on this short 50-flight to Brussels. We both commented that with Bill retiring in July, we may be relegated to economy once all Bill's frequent flyer miles are gone.
After arriving Brussels, time for a cab to our hotel. Well, based on the title you may have guessed it. We were with a crazy NY Cabbie type driver...what a 30-min, in and out of traffic, down surface streets at high speed, horn honking, and, oh well we made it! By the time we reached the Marriott, Karen was nearly car sick...but we made it thru rush hour traffic and all is good. After getting settled in around 5 pm, we walked around till 7 then had dinner at a sidewalk cafe built in 1863 - Chez Leon.
Good food and lots of people watching. Walked back to the beautiful Marriott and tried to blog but too sleepy so off to bed at 10 pm. Hopefully, we can download some pictures next blog as we have a full day planned today, Friday June 4th.
