An Office in the Sky
What is Sacrè-Coeur?
The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur Basilica and often simply Sacré-Cœur, is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in Paris, France. A popular landmark, the basilica is located at the highest point in the city.
The surrounding neighborhood is very pretty, with small narrow cobblestone streets, several shops, cafe's, homes and the like.
A unique lunch today at one of the busiest places in Paris - Five Guys. The line was several people deep out the door at all times. We had a booth next to this window allowing us to watch the precision and team work these young adults performed. What a gold mine!
At 3:30 pm is was time our guided tour of the Eiffel Tower. It was a good thing we bought this tour months ago because the Eiffel Tower is the most visited paid monument in the world, with over 6.91M since 2015. At 1,063 feet (same as an 81-storey bldg), it was truly amazing!
Adventurous Bill went for the top while Karen stayed on the 2nd. The view was amazing, at nearly 1,000 feet up. Man, that is high.
Once back on ground, it was time for our complimentary champagne to celebrate a very successful time in Paris. Tomorrow we'll be taking the train east to Colmar near the border of France and Germany.

No, Karen, that's not our Uber!
Front of the Basilica overlooks the city below.
Construction began in 1882 and was completed in 1914. The basilica is dedicated in honor of the 58,000 who lost their lives during the Franco-Prussian War.

Karen made it to the 2nd level, 377 feet. She was a little uneasy on the elevator, but she made it.
