Pinch Me, I must be Dreaming!
As mentioned yesterday, "the sun will come out tomorrow, tomorrow"...and it did! In fact, today was the warmest day since we arrived, reaching 61 degrees.
As promised, we are adding a couple more pictures from the Chateau. The view from our room is fantastic, waking to birds singing, enjoying the spring day. We are surrounded by beautiful grounds (300 acres) that includes the garden, lakes and an island, ancient trees, flowers, etc.
Breakfast in the dining room was fantastic and Count Reggie, yes he is a Count and told us more Chateau stories. The Chateau was built in 1795 by his grandparents and is a registered historical monument and is still a family home. It even includes a ghost of his grandmother. As you see by a few photos, this is a wonderful place to stay and the Count is a great host.
Now onto Karen's bucket list tour for the day, a place she's always wanted to see - in fact I think she's had to pinch herself a couple times as this is like a dream. Mont Saint Michel, shown below, is out of fantasy land or Harry Potter as we approach it during low tide. In fact, the tide retracks over 10-miles when at it's lowest. Wow, what a view.
We took the long walk up to the mont (40-min) because it was a great day and we had a beautiful view of the mont all the way. Karen had to stop periodically just to sigh and enjoy the view. Once we got inside the walls we made our way up to the abbey. We started the tour and managed to get into the santuary just before the noon service. We got to see one of the monks ring the steeple bells the old fashioned way - by pulling a thick rope up and down, and it needed his whole body to get them going.
After touring the abbey, we wondered the street, got a sandwich, and just enjoyed the fact that we were in such a wonderful place. It was somewhat crowded but not as bad as it gets in the summer.
The afternoon found us back at our wonderful room relaxing. Karen decided to take an apple out to feed the donkeys and when she asked permission, they said 'yes, and would you like to take some bread also?'. They gave us a big bag of day old bread so we took it out and feed the donkeys and geese.
After a relaxing few hours at the Chateau, we headed out for dinner and a night view of Mont St Michel. Of course it was spectacular and well worth the wait - it does not get dark till 10 pm, so now it's midnight!
Tomorrow we say goodbye to Chateau_de_Bouceel and France as we take the train to Amsterdam. From our Chateau to yours, good night. We love you all.

Love your "home away from home".....just a little cottage in the country, complete with resident cat it appears. Great pic of you two relaxing at the foot of the stairs. We feel as if we are traveling with you as you share your thoughts. Can't wait for more!
