NOW - This is Switzerland!

Yes,  this is Switzerland - a beautiful sunny day with no clouds - a trip out to the mountains - green everywhere - wildflowers - Swiss farms dotting the landscape - Swiss cows with melodious cow bells around their necks - Swiss chalets all along the way, some of them very high up the mountain - jagged snowy mountains - a gondola ride up to 7,000 feet (as high as Karen was willng to go - the top is at 10, 000 feet and they are skiing up there) - lunch with a view more spectacular than we could describe - nibbling Swiss chocolate on the way back to Lucerne.  Now this is Switzerland - part of Bill's bucket list.

Below is our lunch view - spectacular !

Yes, we had all that and more on our excursion to Engelberg.  Pictures are worth a thousand words, so here are more pictures.

Enjoying the view at 7, 000 feet...what else can be said.

After returning to Lucerne, we turned in our rental car - we hated to because we would love to stay longer, but it will be nice to be home too.

We walked out onto the bridge again and found that all of Switzerland plus the tourists were out enjoying the beautiful day (72 degrees).

After a wonderful day, we ate dinner at a real authentic Italian restaurant - after all,  Italy's not to far away. After dinner you guessed it - Swiss chocolate!

Tomorrow we'll walk to the train station (only 3 blocks away) and take the 7:10 am train to the Zurich airport. The train only takes an hour and our flight departs at 10:10 and arrives LAX at 7:05 pm.

NOTE: Finally, all blogs are updated with pictures, so check them out if you desire.

We have had fun doing this blog - mostly, except for the technical glitches - thanks for joining us on the trip.  We love you all and will see you at home soon.
