Oh, Britannia!

This morning we docked in Edinburgh, Scotland and the sun seemed to abandon us for a while as we woke to drizzles. Not letting the weather deter us, we forged ahead with our plans to visit "The Royal Yacht Britannia".
We caught a taxi at the port, which was 30-min from Edinburgh, with another couple and had an enjoyable ride to the yacht comparing travel experiences. By the time we got there the sun had caught up with us and provided us another sunny day.
The self guided audio tour was very informative about the ship, its history, and the life of the Royals who have used it. We were able to see a great deal of the ship as it would have been before it was decomissioned in 1977. It was a exceptionally well done attraction and here are some of our pictures - Welcome Aboard.
After lunch we took the '22' bus from the Britannia into the heart of Edinburgh and walked around the Royal Mile. We enjoyed seeing St. Giles Cathedral and the sites along the pedestrian way.
Since we had been here just a few years ago, we didn't spend alot of time walking around since we we able to tour the Britannia, something we did not do last time. Soon we hired a taxi and headed back to the port.
The remoteness of our docking location and a major disruption to the port area by the construction of a new bridge contributed to our taxi drivers inability to find the way to the terminal building.
The rest of the day was spent relaxing and sailing away to our next port - Greenwich.
After an enjoyable dinner (as you can probably guess, the food is really great), we enjoyed a performance of ABBA hits and swayed and danced to 'The Dancing Queen'.

We stoped a few times to ask directions and we were wondering how she could understand what the people were saying. We finally made it back after feeling like we were going around in circles, being able to see the building but not finding the way to it.
