A Day with the Knights
Today was our last day of our 2017 European Adventure, and there couldn't be a better place to end it. We started our morning with a hearty breakfast here at the Manor House. The rain stopped and the temperature reached 71 degrees. Just georgeous! As mentioned yesterday, here are more pictures around the property.
In 2010, Castle Comb played host to Hollywood director Steven Spielberg when it was the setting for a major part of the film Warhorse. Below are pictures we took and pictures taken when filming. We must rent the movie.
For our Small Group blog readers:
Jeff & Sue Knight drove up from Southampton to join us for lunch at 'The Old Rectory Tea Room'.
It was so nice to get some real English hugs from special people. Good friends, good food at a great place in the small village of Castle Combe. The Old Rectory Tea Room is in a private residence which dates back to 1490. The owner makes all her food herself and she is also a photographer and author.
After lunch, the six of us drove to another small village and walked around a little, but mostly talked a lot and enjoyed sharing our lives. It is great to have such sweet friends 'over the pond'.
Bill and Karen took another stroll around Castle Combe before dinner enjoying this idealic place.
After a yummy dinner at the Manor House, we packed up everything as best we could to be ready to go home.
Our flights depart tomorrow afternoon and we arrive LAX early evening (Thurs). This has been a great adventure with dear friends to beautiful places. We are happy you got to travel with us via the blog and look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Thanks for sharing Bill but must admit a little envy (didn't Rick just publish his daily message on that subject)?
