Vicki Wins!
A beautiful sea day. Time for relaxing, more eating and fun. While the Green's spent time reading and relaxing, the Kelly's decided the weather was so nice, time for a swim before lunch (didn't we just eat?).
Although this is a small ship, there are two pools and four jacuzzi's. Our first stop was what we'll call Bill's infinity pool on the stern (that's the back). No one was in until they saw Bill and asked him how it was, and he said it was great. After his recommendation, a man joined him and said it was quite lovely (an Englishman). Soon another couple got in as well.
What's next? Time for what we called Karen's jacuzzi. Again, no one in until Bill joined Karen after his swim.
Before heading to the shower, how about a plunge in the atrium pool and jacuzzi? The overhead glass ceiling was closed and the water was wonderful. We needed more excercise because it's almost time to (ugh) eat again.
Excercise/fun after lunch - a shuffleboard competition pitting girls against boys. But first, a warmup round.
Now the competition begins. For awhile the boys were ahead and then newbie Vicki (never played shuffleboard) hit some 10 point spots and then on her last play she got 15 points killing the guys. Vicki wins for the girls team.
Cruising in towards London, we saw first hand the Maunsell Forts which were armed towers built in the Thames and Mersey estuaries during the Second World War to help defend the U.K.
So, where are the other two jacuzzi's? We may have mentioned in an earlier blog that there is a large one in the spa area (actually larger than the stern pool) and a standard size jacuzzi next to it.
Our Cruise Director wowed us again tonight. Her resume as a singer is remarkable, traveling around the globe until she joined Viking. What a fantastic show and entertainer.
Trivia facts
1) Most cruise ships charge for Wi-Fi but not Viking - FREE Wi-Fi is included. That becomes quit noticeable as you walk around or relax in the multitude of areas on the ship - a lot of 'old' people on tablets and phones. In fact, that's why we can blog! And, all crew members get free wi-fi as well which means a very happy crew.
2) No one under age 18 is allowed on Viking...our cruise mates are all in our age group.

The unhappy (questionable) athletes.
