Karen's Bonus Blog

So much to see, so much to show, so little time...so this is Karen's bonus blog.

One of the things I have always loved seeing are the artistic metal signs hanging from businesses in Europe.  In Rothenberg the businesses were not allowed to post any signs that were modern, so they had many beautiful signs to enjoy.  Here are some of them:

So what is life like on the ship you ask?  First of all, the food is wonderful.  We haven't had anything that wasn't excellent and they are there to get you anything you want.  Last night Vicki ordered blackened fish and it turned out to be too spicy.  Grigor immediately took it away and quickly replaced it with a lovely piece of grilled salmon.  Here are some pics of some the food:

The sou chef serving chocolates.

The Lif is one of Viking's new long ships.  It is just over one year old.  The interior is modern in styling with neutral colors and a splash of blue.  Speaking of blue, they have beautiful blue bread dishes that Vicki and I wanted to steal but when we asked Grigor if we could take them, he called security.  BTW, there is no security on the ship - he likes to joke around.

Below are some pictures of the ship.  Our room is very nice but a little on the small side. The bathroom has heated floors which is verrrrry nice.

Very comfortable inside lounge with floor to ceiling windows and outside lounge.

The dining room where we are always served 1st class meals with 1st class service by our outstanding, friendly, considerate and great sense of humor, Grigor.

The sun deck with great views and a two putting greens and a walking/jogging track.
