Zion National Park

After spending a week in Park City with friends, we stayed at the Zion National Park Lodge for 2-nights. We choose to not do a nightly blog but instead, a photo blog like we did for PC. We checked in at 4 pm, then off we went on our first trek to Emerald Pools, an easy hike taking us about 1 1/2 hr round trip.   The park is beautiful and the weather was perfect. It's amazing to look up at the sheer rock mountain sides that reach an elevation of over 2,000 feet above you. Awe inspiring! We loved having dinner on the 2nd floor overlooking the grassy area in front of the lodge as the deer enjoyed an evening of fresh greens as well. On our 2nd day, we spent all day site seeing along Zion Canyon Scenic Drive, stopping often to hike.   High up on the rocky mountain, we saw a interesting formation, so we decided to go for it with a couple water breaks along the way. 3-Par Group goes to Park City

This year our 3-Par group (L to R - Randy & Ellie Edwards, Bill & Karen Kelly and Martha & Larry Armitstead) spent a week in Park City rather than our normal yearly trip to Hilton Head. This blog, unlike others, is primarily a picture album, saving us input nightly and sending pictures via email. We normally stay at the Marriott Mountainside, but this year we stayed at Westgate Resort & Spa. Usually the guys golf while the ladies find great places to eat, shop and do crafts. Although Karen and I have been to Park City 5 times, we never had snow in April before this trip which limited golf outings for the guys to one day when it was 50 with a wind chill of 45 degrees. Lows were in the 20-30's and most days it never got over 40 degrees, but beautiful.      The guys had 1 1/2 days without snow but 50 degrees with a wind chill of 45 - burrrrrr!
