Fantasy Island
The "Sparkling South Pacific" and Society Islands are just spectacular. Everywhere we go is amazing and beautiful. For the next two days (Thurs & Fri) we are in Raiatea, the largest of the Society Islands after Tahiti.
This is our first port where we are docked at a pier. Since our adventure does not start until this afternoon, we walked around the shops and grounds.
The morning view from our balcony and the sparkling waters.

Lots of water lilies.
Produce market.
At 1:30 pm we boarded our 17 passenger boat for our 3-hour tour and headed to a small (Fantasy) island in the the lagoon.
This island was very relaxing and serene. A Polynesian lunch was served including juice with rum.
We stayed here 1 1/4 hours and spent time relaxing on chase lounges and enjoyed swimming in the lagoon. You could walk out 150 yards and still only be waist deep in the clear warm water.
Laying in the water. The people in the distance are sitting in the water.
After frolicking in the water, we walked around the island which was probably 100 yards in circumference.
After the motu, we cruised to the island of Tahaa to tour a vanilla farm. Seventy percent of the vanilla grown in French Polynesia is from Tahaa and is big business.
Because it's now 11 pm here, the vanilla farm will be part 2 Fri morning - stay tuned.
