Bora Bora

Each day we find it very hard to start the blog. The ocean, bays, lagoons, fish, reef's, atoll's and mountains rising up in the middle of the South Pacific, are all so spectacular. What a beautiful creation!

Bora Bora - Day 1. Mount Otemanu is one of two extinct volcanoes rising 2,285 ft. in the center of the island.

Bora Bora is a mountainous island in the middle of a large lagoon surrounded by a reef. We are anchored off the village of Vaitape on the Western side of the island

Before our 1 pm tour, we went into Vaitape and walked around the small town. We stopped at a couple black pearl stores and shops to look around. Of course Karen found a few items she'd like, but we left the wheelbarrow of money at home! But don't despair, she found a pearl bracelet to go with her ring. This time she got them to discount the bracelet by 40%!

Today we sailed Bora Bora by Catamaran.

After leaving the pier we cruised the lagoon that surrounds Bora Bora. It was wonderful as the catamaran was very quiet and comfortable. We spent time enjoying the scenery. The shoreline often looked like a jungle. And the water changing colors in different areas, wow.

Another beautiful day.

While sailing we were served all kinds of fruit juices, banana's, papaya, pineapple, etc.

Beautiful clear water and lots of fish to see.

After snorkeling in the clear lagoon, we were served fruit juice and rum - and it was tasty. The crew also walked around with plenty of snacks to eat with our "juice".

Cheers!

Watching the sun set from our shipboard balcony after a fantastic day in paradise.

It might be nighttime jacuzzi time onboard the Oceania Marina?
