Wauwinet Hotel 2.0
This morning we awoke to a beautiful view of the bay outside our room. It looks to be - and was - a really nice day with not a cloud in the sky. After breakfast we decided to walk around this beautiful spot for a bit before we go into town.
Here we are in front of the Wauwinet Hotel before taking a short walk to the Atlantic Ocean.
The beach and the Atlantic were so beautiful that Karen decided then and there that she is staying on Nantucket and not going home. She is sure all of you will come and visit her here sometime.
Opposite the Atlantic is the bay - just a few 100-yds apart. Karen found some great shells in both spots.
We then took the shuttle into town and enjoyed walking the Main Street and it's very large cobblestones - more like boulders than cobblestones!
We enjoyed lunch at the harbor and then took a walk out to the somewhat small lighthouse.
The beach around the lighthouse was covered with shells and Karen found a few more to take to her new home here on Nantucket.
Once back at our hotel, we enjoyed a relaxing break on the lounges on the grass facing the bay.
Then Karen went to a cooking class given by the chef of Topper's restaurant. Karen and a few others learned to make an elderberry soufflé while sipping wine. The soufflé was served with Apple sorbet.
After the cooking class we enjoyed a short break of cheese, wine and crackers before taking another visit to the Atlantic. Karen just cannot get enough of this view!
We returned to town on the shuttle for dinner (oops, no pictures - no big deal). Tomorrow we pack up and Bill goes home while Karen stays here on Nantucket. See you all when you come visit - yea, right!

From our hotel, you can see both the Atlantic and bay.
