St. Martins Country Inn
After another fantastic 3-course breakfast, it was time to leave Bar Harbor and the lighthouse state for Canada. The owner and his wife made sure Karen had the "healthy" breakfast while Bill had a muffin, fruit and waffles covered in strawberries with ice cream instead of syrup.
Today's drive was 5 1/2 hrs so we headed out after breakfast at 10 am crossing into Canada at 12:30. As we've been doing, we stayed off the interstate until we crossed the boarder. Alot more colorful trees as we continued north.
We arrived St. Martins Country Inn at 3 pm - well 4 pm Canada time (4-hr time difference from the Pacific Coast).
This B&B was built in 1863 and it's current owner has been restoring it for 2-yrs. Our room is very nice. Great view of the Bay of Fundy while lying in bed (more about the bay tomorrow). We also have a sitting room attached with a couch, chair, TV and of course, a private bath.
Once we were settled, Karen read her book while Bill looked at pictures for todays blog in the living room.
The township of St. Martins in New Brunswick is very small and quiet. In fact, only two other couples besides us are staying here tonight. It's very peaceful - like having your own home. Karen found a new friend who lives here with her sibling.
We signed up to eat dinner here as the Inn also serves dinner in their dining room. The Inn keeper made a special stir fry with lots of veggies for Karen.
