The Wauwinet Hotel

Said good-bye to our B&B in Stockbridge and hosts this morning around 10 am and on the road again.

Arrived Hyannis Port around 1 pm and had lunch at local place in town. Boarded our high speed ferry (the Grey Lady is the ferry - not Karen dude!) at 3:45 pm for Nantucket for our 1-hr cruise to the island. Good results compared to Gilligan's cruise!

It was another beautiful day but cold and windy (55 degrees, but with the wind chill, it was 45). Note: Ferries to/from Nantucket had to cancel yesterdays crossings and again this morning as well as the noon crossing due to high winds and rough seas. We were blessed that our crossing was smooth, and many passengers trying to get home to Nantucket, were happy they made it on this afternoon ferry.

The Wauwinet, where we're staying two nights, is a 5-Star Hotel, extremely luxurious in an amazing location with water on both sides - the Atlantic and the bay. We're so happy we could stay here the last 2-nights of this trip - like icing on the cake!

Our room is very nice (in fact, featured on their web-site) with a bay view from the bed, big bathroom and a huge HD TV and DVD player. We got here in time to watch the sun set, both from our room and the shore.

We had dinner tonight at the Wauwinet Toppers Restaurant which was very nice with gourmet food. Bill had steak with frits and salad and Karen had a special roasted squash with mushrooms, swiss chard and quinua with pumpkin puree. It was so fancy, tomorrow we may have to have bread and water!

Since we'll be here all day tomorrow, we'll include pictures of Nantucket then.
