Homeward Bound

It was a real chore yesterday morning to drag Karen out of the Wauwinet, an Inn at the Sea and off Nantucket Island, but she gave in with promises for more wonderful trips in the future - like Norway in 2017.

We boarded the Hi-Speed Grey Lady (a really nice, large and smooth catamaran ferry) at 10:30 am and said good-bye to Nantucket.

Because it was a warm, 65 degree day, smooth and calm, the Captain performed a man over board drill about 1/2 way between Nantucket and Hyannis Port. To simulate, they threw out a life-preserver, then slowed down quickly, made a 180-degree turn around and went back and retrieved the preserver. You don't see that every day folks - pretty cool!

Since our flight home from Boston was not until 6:30 pm, we stopped at Plymouth to see the 'Rock', where it all started. A picture of a rock is not that exciting, so a photo of a replica of the Mayflower located in the harbor will have to do.

Our 2-week vacation - oops, when you're retired, it's called a trip - has come to an end.

We've seen some beautiful country, beaches, incredible autumn leaves, rivers, lakes, mountains and the list goes on. We've stayed in some of the most beautiful B&B's and Inns in New England, dealt with back/dirt road challenges where only a Jeep should go, a flat tire in the middle of no-where, and last but not least, Bill left his camera in the trunk of the rental car at the Boston a/p last night, not realizing it until we were checked in and relaxing in the American Airlines Admiral's Club. Thankfully, we arrived a couple hours early so he left Karen at the Club and hoofed it back to Avis. After 30+ minutes of searching, the agent found his camera with 100's of memories we would have hated to lose. Only three incidents in 2-weeks proves God was with us in good times and in our time of challenge.

We hope you enjoyed travelling with us the last 2-weeks.

Until the next 'Kelly Trips and Tours', so-long for now and safe travels.

Love, Bill and Karen
