Bergen Gets Washed Today
The Hotel Thon Rosenkrantz Bergen not only had a very delicious dinner buffet last night, but this morning the breakfast buffet was the best Bill - and all of us - have ever seen. If you wanted it, they had it, to include lots of choices for the Vegan with us.
Shortly after our 9am breakfast, Vicki was very excited to see her bag. Can you tell?
Bergen was getting washed this morning so we came up with a rainy day activity - shopping. Karen and Vicki managed to drop some NOK (Norwegian money) at their first shop - a Christmas store, and they found a few other shops to spend their NOK.
To help out the Bergen economy, Ric joined in and bought a very appropriate hat for our journey.
After ducking into a few stores and alcoves when it rained (off and on every few minutes), we picked the Baker Brun for lunch with great sandwiches and pastries.
Bergen is well known for dried Cod fish, so the fish market tour was on the agenda before heading to our cruise ship for our 2pm check in.
There was a large variety of fresh fish including a large Monk fish, lots of Whale meat, Salmon, and just about any kind of fish found in Norway.
The Viking Sea is new and beautiful. Once aboard we toured around the ship and very much enjoyed the tasteful decor and several dining locations. We may be eating our way north!
After enjoying a great dinner, we attended a concert by the famous Norwegian violinist Tor Jaran Apold. We are sure going to get an education on Norwegian arts and culture on this trip.

There's even a pizza place there!
