A Chapel without walls.

A must place for breakfast while in Paris is Angelina, founded in 1903 by an Austrian confectioner and named for his daughter-in-law. Angelina Tea Rooms have been the favorite meeting place of Parisian gormets for over a century.

With an opulent interior and wonderful Parisian food, you know this is the real deal. Karen had a chocolate croissant, tea and fruit while Bill had eggs benedict and the world famous hot chocolate - and boy was it good and rich!

Look carefully and you can see the hot chocolate being poured into Bill's cup

Check out the pastry counter.

Next we had Uber take us to Norte-Dame Cathedral.  After yesterday's long walk it was time for a ride. The line at Notre-Dame was long, but fast, and in no time and we were inside.

It an amasing structure that took over 150-years to complete (1163-1345).The Cathedral.

Emence inside.

Beautiful stained-glass.

After touring Notre-Dame, our next stop was Sainte-Chapelle, surely Paris' s most beautiful church - a Sistine Chapel of shimmering stained glass.

The chapel has so many stained-glass windows with a cluster of slender colums rising to the vaulted ceiling, it seems as though there are no walls.

Windows for walls surround the complete interior.

That took care of our morning. We then headed, that is walked to, Le Marais, the historic district.

Lots of sidewalk cafe's, stores, people, etc.

By now it was 1:30 pm and we were ready for lunch, but so many places to chose from. After sampling a few menu's, we settled on Le Celtic Cafe Brasserie.

Lunch, a cold beer,

and a salad.

After a relaxing lunch, we walked back to our hotel stopping in at a few stores. We found a great confectioner shop close by that had popsicles (Karen got a strawberry popsicle) and some yummy looking cupcakes (Bill had a strachetella cupcake).

Desert was the perfect way to complete our lunch as we had a 35-min walk ahead of us to return to the Renaissance hotel until dinner.

After dinner it was time for our Seine nightime cruise to enjoy the lights of Paris. It's past our bedtime (11:30 pm), but if we wanted to sleep, we'd stay home.

Cruising the Seine.

Absolutely gorgeous. Tomorrow we go to the top.

  1. Reminds me of our trip with Mike and Carla. Went to many of the same places. Loved visiting Paris!
