She Wants the Bronze Dog

This morning we finished off the Cherrios, OJ, Bill's muffin and Karen ate more of her fresh pineapple. Tomorrow we'll have to have breakfast out for our last day here on the 'Big Island' as we'll be heading home tomorrow night (Thursday).

After our gourmet breakfast, Karen headed to the gym and Bill headed to the golf course. After her workout, she lounged around the beach and enjoyed the warm tropical waters while Bill was working up a sweat at the golf course. Bill teed it up at Hapuna GC thanks to his former customer - now good friend - Maj Gen (ret) Bob Lee who set it up.

The normal price for visitors at Hapuna is $160, but not for Bill. Instead, Bob was able to get him the Kama'aina senior rate - $50! Bill said he had a great round shooting 84. Often when he shoots under 85, he rewards himself with a shirt or hat, but passed this time.

Meanwhile, Karen was relaxing at beach, reading a book and enjoying a light lunch. Later in the afternoon, they did a little shopping at the shops at Mauna Lani, a few miles down the road from our resort. Karen was successful in finding some Hawaiian napkins for her napkin collection, so the shopping trip was a success. She also saw a beautiful bronze dog named Sylvester but Bill declined to get him - he was only $14,000!

Back at our home away from home (our front yard has grass then ocean and the back yard is tropical) we relaxed for a couple hours before heading to dinner (Karen reads while Bill watches TV).

For our last night we decided to eat at the Tommy Bahama Restaurant in Mauna Lani. The walkway from our room to the lobby is very nice and tropical with lots of Koi fish swimming while we walk by.

Along the road to the restaurant we saw several wild goats settling down for the night.

The food, ambiance and sunset from the restaurant was outstanding, a great way to spend our last night - this trip.

Last on tonights adventures was to once again look at the Manta Rays feeding in the ocean here at the resort. What beautiful, graceful animal.
