R&R Saturday

Now that we've been here at the resort since last Sunday, we decided today would be an R&R day at the resort and beach. First thing we did was a morning walk down the beach to watch sea turtles again and enjoy the scenery. On our way back to the condo, we stopped by a craft fair in the park as vendors set up. After breakfast the girls walked over and made sure to help out the locals by making a purchase.

Next, Snorkel Bob's for some equipment so Chuck and Denise can enjoy the underwater fishies up close. They had a great time and saw schools of fish and several different species. Chuck loved the optical mask, noting he saw better than with his glasses!

While they snorkeled, we looked around Koloa Town and Poipu shopping center and found several places for lunch and dinner. We found so many cool places, Karen suggested we stay another week to try them out.

We settled for Bubba Burgers for lunch and boy was it good. Karen decided to enjoy some fries and onion rings rather than the vegan/taro burger.

You've got to love the sign below. There are free range chickens everywhere due to a major hurricane nearly 20-yrs ago. In fact, we were told they're not good for eating because they eat...well, read the sign.

After lunch it was pool time. Mike took a nap, Chuck joined us for a short time then they watched the Stanley Cup.

Karen, Denise and Carla enjoying the pool while Bill plays photographer then Carla takes over.

Dinner tonight was at Merriman's Restaurant here in Poipu.

Aloha and Cheers from Marriott's Waiohai Beach Resort, Poipu Kauai. Hey, that was supposed to be a virgin drink!
